American has an immediate opening in our Des Moines, Iowa Market.

American is a leading retailer of consumer electronics, appliances and furniture.  Founded in 1954, American has built a market leading reputation for selection, price, and outstanding customer service.  Corporate headquarters is based in Madison, Wisconsin with fourteen current stores throughout the midwest, two state-of-the-art Distribution Centers, and a Service Center in Madison.  Each American store averages 125 employees.  In addition to the retail sales departments, each store includes warehouse, service, delivery prepping and a mobile installation department.

The qualified candidate is a highly visible, motivational leader, who will be responsible for; managing the areas of warehouse, delivery prepping, inventory control, direct receiving, environmental services, security and safety for the building, as well as, the maintenance and building services for the entire facility. Other essential functions of their job is to; train a staff (30-40 employees) to exceed customer expectations and resolve customer problems in a timely manner, train and guide supervisors to be effective leaders, interview, recruit, orientate and train new employees, control budgets and expenses, with warehouse/inventory dollars as well as many more duties.

 

The successful individual will be able to adjust to light to very heavy lifting, flexible in work schedules. They will be a self-motivated team player, have god knowledge of security, loss control and OSHA rules and regulations.
