Afghanistan Border Advisor

Mentor for Ministry of Interior, Border Police Location of Position:Border Police Headquarters, Kabul, Afghanistan Mentoring Responsibilities:The Border Police fall within the Ministry of Interior, Kabul, Afghanistan. The Border Police are a uniform service and therefore a highly visible enforcement arm of the government of Afghanistan. Its responsibilities are nation-wide. The Border Police mentors responsibilities include but are not limited to:  advising, coaching and mentoring the Chief of the Border Police his Deputy and their subordinates. Assist the Afghan Border Police in developing policing strategies for dealing with cross-border offences. Assist the Afghan Border Police in improving co-operation and co-ordination with other regional policing agencies. Assist the Afghan Border Police in identifying training needs in dealing with cross border offences.  Qualifications: Possess a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university. The mentor shall have a minimum of ten years of combined domestic or international law enforcement experience with a minimum of four years in a law enforcement management position with a Border Patrol or Port Authority organization.  International experience in Border Patrol is a plus. Possess the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently achieve the end state projection. Possess strong communication skills – written, verbal, and listening. Possess issue resolution and strong analytical skills. Possess strong leadership skills; make decisions, self directed, self-confident, and positive. Mentor must have computer skills in the Microsoft Office Suite. General Payroll Information:Compensation package is $180,000 for a 1 year contract.
