EOE M/F/D/V Entry Level HR Assistant POSITION:   Human Resource Assistant REPORTS TO: Robert Rustman, Human Resource Manager DESCRIPTION: Performs a variety of human resources administration functions, including: administering benefits, coordinating the worker’s compensation process, entering associate information into the automated resource system, maintaining personnel files, addressing employee relations issues, and coordinating employee recognition programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: n Administers health benefits, including new enrollments and changes, annual open enrollment, and resolution of benefit problems.   n Coordinates worker’s compensation process including injury reporting, employee return to work, bill payment, and file maintenance.  Conducts monthly safety meetings in compliance with Company’s Risk Management policy. n Prepares monthly vacation report, responds to questions regarding the vacation pay plan, and troubleshoots vacation pay problems. n Tracks leaves of absence including FMLA and USERRA leaves.  Collects appropriate documentation and ensures compliance with applicable laws and company policies. n Maintains inactive employee list and communicates with management to determine action to be taken on inactive employees.  Processes all paperwork related to employee separations. n Responds to unemployment claims, participates in resulting hearings as appropriate.   n Updates and maintains confidential personnel files to document personnel actions and to provide information for payroll and other uses. n Performs tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for assigned office.  QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience:   Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company. Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.EOE/AAP  M/F/D/V
