We have a challenging opportunity for an experienced Supervisor of Operations for our Document Destruction Brooklyn – New York Branch. This person will have to develop new ideas, systems and/or plans to keep up with customer needs, weather conditions, and number of Customer Security Representatives (drivers) available. Must be proficient in trucking operations, promote continuous learning, be able to work independently, and will be responsible for the performance of a fleet of trucks and drivers. The Supervisor of Operations reports directly to the Branch Manager. The selected individual will be rresponsible for the secure, safe, efficient and profitable route and branch operations, and will coordinate and supervise the operation efficiently, while maintaining positive customer and employee relations. The Supervisor of Operations will lead by example by ensuring that the branch policies and procedures are enforced at all times. The successful Supervisor of Operations will use his or her decision-making skills in planning the work for each shift. At the beginning of the day it is required that the Supervisor of Operations prioritize the work that must be processed that day, schedule the staff to meet work demands, and distribute the work before the staff’s arrival times. Specific Job Duties: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. · Assist branch management in controlling daily operations and maintaining profitability of the branch. May act on the behalf of the Branch Manager in their absence on operational issues.· Prepare routing of client calls so as to ensure optimization of return on assets and client satisfaction. · Prepares and distributes daily work schedules for CSR. · Responsible for the fleet maintenance of all vehicles of the Branch.· Recruits, interviews and hires CSR personnel and maintain proper hiring procedures. Assist with proper handling of employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, and terminations of employees.· Directly monitor container loading and truck inspection activities during departure.· Resolve service problems · Assist in providing quotes and service times and ensure maintenance of good customer service.· Optimize the efficiency of each route by the use of daily operational tracking sheets and customer care response.· Optimize scheduling of employees and trucks.· Supervise/train the Lead Customer Security Representatives (CSR) to coach appropriately in your absence.· In the field daily for CSR education, coaching and follow up.· Lead direct reports and encourage a positive work environment, with an emphasis on communication and customer satisfaction.· Report any operational deficiencies to management and other departments when applicable.· Ensure the training and development of new and existing employees including truck and administrative staff· Assist with human resource matters and ensure good employee relations.· Assist with month-end reports.· Other projects as assigned.Skills/Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include:· Minimum of High School Diploma or G.E.D.; Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred· Minimum of 3-5 years operations supervisory experience; 5+ years supervisory experience preferred· Comprehensive knowledge of document destruction operations· Excellent customer service and relations skills· Good comprehension of finance and budgeting· Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills· Excellent employee relations skills with a team player orientation· Excellent staff development, leadership, and decision-making skills· Solid work history and credit record Strong ethics and integrity
