EOE M/F/D/V Polished Professional Security Officer-Military Experience Preferred Securitas Security Services USA, the world leader in security, is currently recruiting polished, professional college degreed security officers with military experience for a high visibility, premier financial institution in downtown Chicago JOB SUMMARY●Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1.  High commitment to professionalism, customer service and polished presentation2. Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process3. Provides a safe, courteous, respectful and pleasant interaction with each client employee and visitors 4. Communicates in a manner that is open, honest and responsive in allsituations.5. Monitors entrances and exits; acts to prevent unapproved or unlawfulentry.6. Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions,hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons7. Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents,emergencies or security investigations8. Prepares logs or reports as required for site; writes or types reports orenters information in a computer using standard grammar9. Observes and reports incidents or suspicious activity to clientrepresentatives, company management, life/safety personnel or publicsafety authorities10. Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following proceduresestablished for the site, by the company, and/or through training or certification.11. Acts to ensure that all property removal is conducted within appropriatepolicy requirements and in accord with client standard12. Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope asrequired for the assigned site. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRYEducation/ExperienceCollege Degree required.  Previous professional experience with a customer service orientation.  Prior military  experience preferred.   Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing):• Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.• Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.• Ability to be an effective team member.• Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.• Courteous telephone manner.• Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.• Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.• Good organizational skills.• Ability to provide high quality customer service.• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures. EOE/AAP  M/F/D/V
