About Our Company 

J. O'Brien is a small, woman owned, manufacturer/distributor of security ID products. Since 1984 we have been selling to manufacturers, transportation, military & government, colleges & schools, hospitals, municipalities, and more including many of Fortune 500 names. Now the Company is going through a period of rapid change and accelerated growth in response to the needs of growing security marketplace. 

 

Position Summary:

Outside Sales position with strong focus on new business generation. The primary sales territory is New York City. Reports to Vice President, Sales & Marketing.

Job Description:

 

 Expand existing and build new customer partnership through:

· Making cold calls and digging through various departments to establish the appropriate contact(s)

· Making appointments

· Developing sales relationship with key decision makers of an organization

· Presenting product features and benefits

·  Understanding customer needs and translating into “best fitting” offering or product.

· Closing deals

 

  Requirements:

 

·  BA/BS degree and or equivalent combination of education and experience

·  Minimum of 3 years of sales experience (security services B2B a plus)

·  Aptitude for learning technical product-related information

·  Must be entrepreneurial in spirit / self starter 

·  Must be well organized, possess excellent communications & follow-up skills

·  Must have thorough knowledge of MS-Office Suite

·  Must reside in the New York City/ New Jersey area

·  Must have legal right to work in the United States

·  Must have a valid driver’s license
