Security Officer part-time

Hannon Security Services, Inc. has provided the Twin Cities Metro area security services since being founded in 1901.  Based on traditional values of integrity and outstanding service, Hannon has built its reputation on responsiveness and trust.

Currently we have 3 part-time positions available in Minnetonka:
Saturday & Sunday days: 7 am to 7 pm (24 hours)
Thursday & Friday overnights: 11 pm to 7 am (16 hours)
Saturday & Sunday overnights: midnight to 8 am (16 hours)


These positions are in a corporate environment and require a clean driving record, a professional image, proficiency on a computer, and customer service skills.  Duties will include patrolling grounds by vehicle and on foot.  Monitoring access control and closed circuit TV, along with report writing.  

 Summary:

Guards industrial, residential or commercial property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.

 

Duties and Responsibilities may include:Periodically patrol buildings and grounds of work site. Examine doors, windows & gates to ensure they are secure. Warn violators of rule infractions. Inspect equipment & machinery to determine if tampering has occurred. Watch for & report irregularities:  fire hazards, water leaks and security doors left unlocked. Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property. Sound alarm or call police/fire dept. in case of fire or presence of unauthorized person.  Register at Detex stations to record time of inspection trips. Record data of property damage, unusual occurrences and malfunctioning equipment on daily reports. Regulate vehicle & pedestrian traffic. Customer service. Computer work.

Qualifications:

ALL STANDARDS OF EMPLOYMENT MUST BE MET TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR EMPLOYMENT WITH HANNON:Verifiable U.S. High School Diploma or U.S. GED or College Degree (2 year Associate or 4 year Bachelor). Must be 18 years of age or older. Clear criminal background, even as a juvenile, except for minor traffic violations where the job does not require driving. Ability to read, write and communicate in English during emergency situations and while under stress. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Seven years of verifiable background within the United States The ability to fill out the application properly without assistance. Pass a drug and alcohol test. Must have a working telephone and a reliable means of transportation. Must have a professional appearance with conventional haircut and clean shaven except for a trimmed mustache. No visible facial piercing and no tongue piercing. Limit of one small stud in each ear. Visible tattoos must be approved by the Human Resource Department Legally eligible to work in the United States.
