JOB SUMMARY:
Assumes overall responsibilities of Head Professional when Head Professional is absent. Manage and direct all golf related Club activities, collection of fees, player assistants, pace of play, maintenance and cleaning of carts, tournaments, teaching, driving range and selling of golf equipment and merchandise. The position is seasonal from approximately April 1 through October 31, 2008

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist the Head Professional in handling “Club Services”.
• Supervision of golf shop and all outside services. Insuring that they are following and meeting their job expectations.
• Insuring proper collection of fees, golf, accounting practices and daily record keeping.
2. Assist the Head Professional with training, and scheduling staff. Assure that all employees attend orientation and staff meetings.
3. Conduct evaluations of all shop employees and outside staff supervisor on a monthly basis.
4. Manage the labor schedule for both golf shop and outside staff, making sure that it conforms to the labor budget.
5. When needed work the duties of outside staff personnel.
6. Assist with pro shop displays, and cleanliness of shop on a daily basis.
7. Work with and assist group coordinators on booking tee times for golf and other requested services. Coordinate with Concessions Manager (Lake House) on food and beverage functions with day-to-day orientation and staff meetings.
8. Follow the budget and keep an accurate account of cash, charges and daily reports, as well as conducting monthly check on inventory levels. Track all statistical information as required for future reference.
9. Responsible for enforcing company golf course policies and procedures including pace of play, dress code, number of players, etc. On any given day the assistant pro might be required to monitor and enforce pace of play on the golf course.
10. Cooperate with golf course superintendent regarding condition and schedule of play on golf course.
11. Attend all Grizzly Ranch training programs.
12. Represent Grizzly Ranch at community activities, promotional functions, major golf tournaments, and PGA of America educational programs and meetings.
13. Comply with ALL Grizzly Ranch policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee must be able to work either indoors, or out of doors in extreme weather conditions. Physical requirements include: the ability and endurance to sit, stand, or walk on uneven ground for extended periods of time; the ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. On a frequent basis; the ability to bend, twist, crouch and kneel on a frequent basis; repetitive use of arms, wrists and hands in a grasping or squeezing motion; and reach above shoulder level on an occasional basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School education or equivalent of
• Extensive knowledge of USGA golf rules.
• An SDGA Graduate, PGA member or in the PGA apprentice program
• Ability to work in high customer impact situations
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic computer, telephone & bookkeeping skills
• Ability to work with membership and guests
