Universal Orlando Resort -- home of the world's two most amazing theme parks, Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, the extraordinary Universal CityWalk entertainment center and our three fabulous hotels, PORTOFINO BAY, HARD ROCK and ROYAL PACIFIC -- is currently seeking the following professional to join our team.



Manager, Revenue




Responsible for the daily manipulation of hotel inventory and rates in order to maximize total resort revenue, including control of discount room availability, length of stay restrictions, projection of wholesale block utilization to minimize inventory spoilage, and the evaluation of group requests which exceed group booking guidelines. Also has responsibility for forecasts of occupancy and revenue to support Resort Sales and Marketing and Hotel Operations.





Job Responsibilities:


Develops and implements effective inventory control procedures, which maximize occupancy and profitability of property. Forecasts demand for wholesale and convention/group bookings and adjusts room blocks to minimize spoilage of unused block rooms; identifies “peak” and “valley” periods and takes action to invoke booking restrictions; monitors and evaluates changes to inventory and authorizes adjustments to reduce/increase availability to discount programs; makes determination of space availability on requests for complimentary rooms. Reviews and authorizes requests for group bookings which exceed Group Sales guidelines.
Sets up and maintains spreadsheets to record historical statistics to performance indicators such as room occupancy, average rates, group/FIT pickup and other similar data. Evaluates competitive trends and recommends operational responses. Produces report(s), which contrast current performance and measures with past performance measures. Forecast short and long-term occupancy and revenues and distributes report(s) to higher-level authority for consideration in planning process and strategic decisions.
Maintains open lines of communication with other key departments in the guest/group processing cycle such as Sales, Call Center, Front Office, Convention Services, Catering and Accounting to facilitate the integration of all services/resources and to reduce the occurrence of problematic situations. Consults with other department managers to provide perspective from Revenue Management’s viewpoint in planning marketing and sales strategies. Makes recommendations as to rack rates, special room rates and/or promotional rates to enhance and diversify rate structures.
Participates in the development of the annual marketing plan by forecasting future rooms occupancy and generation of revenues. Analyzes significant variances from past projections and presents data to higher-level authority. Identifies deviations and recommends corrective action.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.





Job Requirements:


Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Statistics, Business Administration, Math, Finance and/or Hospitality required. An MBA is preferred.
5-7 Years management experience is a must, preferably in Hotel Reservations or Hotel Revenue; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
