Summer Camp Counselor
Under direct supervision of the Recreation Supervisor to assist in the direction, control, and implementation of programs for the Summer Kids Camp. Assists supervisors in planning, organizing, and implementing summer programs and activities for youth. Meets and greets children and adult residents. Works at the front desk of the Addison Athletic Club, checking residents into facilities and checking City-owned equipment in and out. Maintains proper records on children and programs; completes daily attendance records; answers phone and provides requested information. Sets up children's activities, plays games, leads field trips, and demonstrates activities with children. Maintains facilities in a neat and orderly fashion at all times; keeps order and discipline among participants in youth activities. Stocks supplies, prepares various forms and paperwork, and maintains files. Performs other duties pertaining to daily operations of the recreation facilities as needed or directed. Drives Town van or personal car on occasional errands; offers support for recreational, civic, and cultural activities in which the Town participates.

Hours
Mon-Fri 7:30 am-4:30 pm or 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Salary
$12.78/hr

Minimum Requirements
All positions require a clear background, clear pre-employment drug screen, valid Texas driver’s license and safe driving record.
Any combination of education, training and work experience equivalent to completion of high school.
One year work experience in a setting with heavy public contact.
Ability to establish and develop youth programs according to the needs of the users and to interact positively and cheerfully with children.
Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with fellow employees, officials, parents, and citizens.
Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically with adults and to maintain order and good discipline among children.
CPR certification will be required shortly after hire.
