We are currently looking for a Buyer, local to the Madison or Milwaukee area, to join the Gear group and work under the Purchasing Supervisor. This person will report to the Purchasing Manager and will help develop new and alternative sources, initiate purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and optimization.Qualifications / Experience: Bachelor's degree (Supply Chain or Business Management is a plus) 2+ years of related experience / previous procurement experience in a manufacturing environment that required accurate control of information and understanding Strong leadership ability Strong supplier negotiations ability and comfortable leading a potentially large meeting with cross functional people Microsoft office experience in generating graphs and data that can be presented at a management level Knowledge of macros is a plus Experience in: ---Setting up demand pull with suppliers ---Setting and managing vendor managed inventory programs ---Buying for manufacturing and not just distribution ---Transactional improvement types of lean, not just the manufacturing floor levelSpecific Duties include but are not limited to: Optimize vendor performance for requirements commensurate with quality, service, price, and delivery Create and maintain professional and ethical relationships with suppliers Maintain an on-going program for profit improvement through cost reductions, cost avoidance, vendor negotiations, and decreasing inventories by monitoring and reducing early receipts Process and resolve complaints in a timely manner Support and drive daily management initiatives focusing on throughput and cost Provide leadership and guidance in the standardization of materials, supplies, equipment service and procedures Endeavor to keep the company's in materials and supplies at the lowest possible levels by providing assistance in the management of inventories and purchased goodsCompensation: Base: Excellent pay - Commensurate with experience Benefits: Medical, Dental, 401K, VacationLean, 5S, Six Sigma, Mining, Drilling, Engineering, Manager, Management, quality, Surface, Blast hole, Mineral, equipment, manufacturing, mobile, industrial, fabrication, Production, Supply, Qualified applicants should reply via email to danielle@mriyorktown.com for follow up and further information.
