If so, read on...We are a cancer research institute dedicated to the understanding and curing of cancer in order to eliminate patient suffering worldwide. Our mission is accomplished through innovative clinical and laboratory research and the education of the next generation of surgical oncologists and scientists.What you will be doing:*Identify reportable breast neoplasm and maintain a complete and accurate database according to established standards and guidelines. *Abstracts and codes information into the computer using guidelines and requirements from the California Department of Health Services, SEER, ACoS, ICD-O and the breast cancer clinical trial specifications. *Participate in quality control of data. *Prepares statistical reports and participates in special studies. *Supports all of the breast cancer database unit functions as needed. *Assists in implementation and maintenance of a follow-up system in compliance with hospital, governmental and regulatory requirements. *Assists in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the computerized follow-up database. Requirements:*Certified Tumor Registrar, (CTR). *Satisfactory completion of a tumor registrar's training course. *Knowledge of medical records, anatomy, cancer biology and physiology, cancer diagnosis and treatment, abstracting, staging and statistics. *Minimum of 3 years recent experience in cancer data abstracting, SEER, ACoS and California Reporting requirements. *Prior experience in chart abstraction/data collection/data editing/data validation preferred. *Familiarity with medical terminology, in particular, cancer terminology, diagnosis & treatment. *Familiarity with the use of data in clinical trials and research.What's in it for you:*Competitive salary and benefits package. *Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, retirement, and accrued vacation to name a few.So if you are a Certified Cancer Registrar/Abstractor, apply now...Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer.
