Cisco Engineer (Metrowest)

91245 We are looking for a solid mid to senior level Network Engineer that has solid Cisco experience. This position is with a large global company that can offer many attractive projects. Responsibilities: Oversee the technical operation of the LAN/WAN data communications and video network. Recommend and install new equipment, which includes acceptance and user testing. Monitor and diagnose LAN/WAN data communication problems as they occur and proactively avoid outages. Design and evaluate equipment and services for new data communication. Perform cost analysis of vendors, telecommunication companies, and any other service providers. Create requests for proposals, review bids, analyze costs and provide recommendations to support projects. Implement new networks for all subsidiaries after a full evaluation of application transmission requirements, user expectations, and security requirements. Design network backup procedures. Evaluate and become proficient on new network technology that will enhance and support user requirements and service level goals.Requirements: Experience with Cisco switches/routers and firewalls is required. General knowledge of all aspects of data communications regarding WAN, LAN and wireless LAN is required. Must have strong problem solving, technical and analytical skills.
