Dairy Herdsman – northern MN A very reputable, stable and growing farm in northern Minnesota is in search of a Dairy Herdsman for their farming operation.  They are going to be selective in their search for the right person, but will hire right away when they find the ideal individual.  This is a 300-head milking herd and they also have 90 young stock on the farm up to 8 months old.  The focus of this individual will be on the 300 milking cows, however.  This is a GREAT opportunity for someone to grow with the farm and the herd, as it is inevitable that the herd will be growing, which will open up other opportunities for this particular individual to grow into other positions on the farm, if he/she wishes.  This individual doesn’t necessarily have to be a main herdsman on a farm, as long as they have the following experience and are currently doing the following tasks:  working with the overall health of the herd, giving vitamin shots, working with the baby calves from time to time and have extensive experience on a dairy farm.  This individual will be responsible for the duties already mentioned, as well as reproductive management, pregnancy checks, program breeding, as they do 100% artificial insemination.  Compensation for this position will be between $30-35K DOE (averaging about 50-60 hours a week).  Please email me a resume ASAP if interested, as good positions with growth opportunities on farms don’t come around often and don’t last on the market long, so it will be important to act quickly if interested.  Thank you.
