About the OpportunityA Director of Nursing is needed to oversee the nursing operations of a top area medical center. You will be charged with the development of organization-wide patient care programs and policies and procedures that describe how patients nursing care needs are assessed, evaluated and met, and you will be asked to participate with the administrative staff, management staff, medical staff and nursing clinical leaders in the organization's decision making structures and processes. Company Description 300+ bed hospital Job Description Responsibilities for the Director of Nursing include: Planning for the improvement of patient care and maximum utilization of staff time and activities Recommending and implementing changes in administrative policies to carry out financial objectives of the hospital more effectively Directing activities to maximize revenue Resolving problems with other members of the management team concerning staffing, utilization of hospital facilities, equipment and supplies Attending meetings of professional, civic and service organizations as a representative of the hospital Participating in the establishment of personnel policies Administering personnel practices under the policies established by the governing board Establishing systems of communication and reporting with hospital administration, other departments and within the Patient Services Division Assisting with the coordination of activities of patient services with other hospital departments Promoting and maintaining harmonious relationships among patient services personnel, medical staff, patients and public Assessing needs in all nursing departments and communicating to the Vice President of Patient Services Studying and reviewing the need for new equipment and supplies Implementing an effective on-going program to measure, assess and improve the quality of nursing care delivered to patients Identifying priorities for performance improvement that relate to hospital-wide activities and patient health outcomes Participating in cross-hospital activities to improve patient care Required Skills 5+ years of clinical and managerial/directorial experience in acute care setting Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) licensure Bachelor's degree in Nursing Master's degree in Nursing Desired Skills Maternal Child and Oncology skills Company: Execu/Search Group Job Title: Director of Nursing Job Category: Medical/Health Location: US-NY-Long Island Salary/Wage: 90,000.00 - 120,000.00 USD /year Reference Id: J49786
