Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions. Acts as a resource for management and staff; provides technical support within area of responsibility. Compounds, mixes and prepares medicines and preparations according to prescriptions written by authorized medical practitioners. Provides information concerning medications to physicians, patients, nurses and other staff. Orders and maintains inventory of drugs, chemicals, or other controlled substances and ensures their security. Prepares reports outlining medicinal and drug usage patterns.
