Field Safety Specialist - Denver, CO
Labor Ready, a TrueBlue company, �has an opening for a Field Safety Specialist in Denver, CO. This position will cover several states, including Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. POSITION SUMMARY: The Field Safety Specialist (FSS) will provide technical support to our Branch Operations, and assist them in achieving their goal to reduce work-related injuries. Support includes evaluation of branch and customer worksites, training in safety and OSHA related matters, and proactive analysis of loss experience and recommendations regarding worksite safety practices. The FSS will report directly to the area�s District Manager, and communicate regularly with the Corporate Safety Department. This position is based in Denver, CO. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Coach Branch staff on the Basic Safety Program Fundamentals. Act as a field consultant and resource for customer specific safety issues. Conduct routinely scheduled visits to evaluate branches and share best practices. Accompany branch staff on worksite safety evaluations, and coach them on the use of site evaluation forms. Provide Branch/District Manager with direction regarding OSHA Regulations pertaining to specific or general customer worksite safety issues. Review and develop specific customer accident information for use in evaluating loss experience. Review �On-Time Work Comp Claims� reports with Branch Managers to assist them in improving the timeliness of claim reporting. Identify customer accident trends and develop improvement strategies. Assist in implementation, or other support strategies for Corporate Risk Management activities that impact safety. Ensure compliance with all aspects of company Injury & Illness Prevention program (IIPP), and provide reports to Operations and Regional Safety Manager. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 3 years full-time safety experience. Associate�s Degree in related field; or equivalent experience. Completed OSHA basic safety training or similar program; or other related experience. Experience in working with OSHA regulations, safety, and training. Experience with multiple location organizations, and branch level operating management. Ability to effectively interact with operations, so they are perceived as a valuable loss prevention resource in developing practical solutions to safety issues. Ability to understand and communicate state and federal safety and health regulations. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both oral and written. Able to work independently, with little daily direct supervision. Proficient in MS Office. (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint) Current valid driver�s license. Able to travel regularly with overnights as needed.
