Iraq Automotive Technicians/Mechanics

Wheel Vehicle Maintenance /Automotive Mechanic (Performs unit maintenance and recovery operations on gasoline and diesel fueled light wheel vehicles, Maintains power assisted brake systems, wheel vehicle suspension systems, wheel vehicle/hub assemblies, wheel vehicle mechanical (manual) steering systems and wheel vehicle crane/hoist/winch assemblies.)

• Fuel & Electrical Systems Repair –Automotive (Troubleshoot complete fuel systems; injector pumps, filtration systems, rebuild, starters, alternators 12, 24, and dual voltage.)

• HVAC – Automotive (Service the A/C and heat pump units in automobiles (or wheeled vehicles). Repair compression ignition air induction systems, vehicle liquid cooling systems to include installations of and repair wheeled vehicle refrigeration systems according to specifications. Repair or replace malfunctioned/defective HVAC equipment, electrical components or wiring.)

· Diesel / Gasoline Heavy Construction Mechanics (Preventive maintenance experience with diesel engines and gasoline and diesel driven construction equipment. Related DOT Classification/DOT Codes, Construction-Equipment Mechanic 620.261-022, Diesel Mechanic 625.281-010
• Generator Mechanics (Maintains, repairs, and services Power Generators. Power Generation mechanics skilled in diesel generators all sizes.)


Qualifications & Competencies:
Minimum of three (3) years experience in automotive maintenance repair and service is required. Knowledge of Army/Marine maintenance technical publications is preferred. Civilian candidates with over one (2) year mechanic experience are encouraged to apply.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must have or be able to obtain a U.S. passport. Must pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Criminal background and drug screen will be conducted.

Working Conditions:

Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex.

Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters. Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and stoop, and have correctable vision.
