90911 Our client has an urgent need for J2EE Application Engineer in New York City. You will be leading a team of 10 people. The is a 12 week initial contract with a strong possibility of extension. You will be helping with a state of the art site redesign for a high profile client. This is a great opportunity to work with some of the best in technology. Requirements: Minimum of 7 years of commercial software development experience. 5 or more years of hands-on J2EE development experience knowledge. Experience with the Agile and Scrum development methodologies. Comfort, interest, and expertise in dealing directly and confidently with clients. Experience developing J2EE components delivered to enterprise customers. Java expertise in writing large-scale, multithreaded, robust, server-side applications. Experience with SQL and relational databases. Experience with standard revision control and defect tracking tools. Experience writing deployment and installation scripts for enterprise applications. Experience with configuration and deployment of applications in a Unix operating system environment. Experience in debugging very large, server based applications using Java debugging tools. A good understanding of the Java VM, and specific issues relating to large J2EE applications (e.g. garbage collection, class loading, application packaging, etc.) Knowledge of Flash, including ActionScript and familiarity with other Adobe products. An in-depth understanding of internet protocols such as TCP, UDP and HTTP. Ability to thrive working in a team environment and directly with customers. Motivated self-starter who likes working on very productive, fast-paced teams. Passionate desire to build great products. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.Pluses: 3 or more years of experience working with mobile operators, integrating enterprise servers into their billing, customer care, provisioning, or network operations infrastructure. J2EE experience with BEA WebLogic Server and JBOSS. Experience with the manipulation of XML based content such as RSS, ATOM and hands on experience with XSLT. Experience developing applications which interact with Oracle 9i and 10g databases. Prior experience doing performance tuning for large scale J2EE applications. Previous experience with launching a large scale Internet or mobile data service supporting a large use population.
