91163 This is a great opportunity to work for a large, global organization to help build and maintain a world class network. As Manager Network Operations the candidate will be responsible for day-to-day operation of the global data network infrastructure. The associate will be an integral component of a fast-paced global company and will work with the network infrastructure, management, and operations technology. The associate will manage a team of network engineers that operate the production network and systems. This is a hands-on role that will focus on directly managing all life-cycle components of router and switch management. The associate will seek to: Minimize productivity loss caused by technology outages. Assist with design and implement network architectures, including LANs and WANs, and LAN-to-LAN and WAN-to-WAN communications and connections for the operations environment. Set priorities and managing resources to achieve unit, division, and corporate goals. Establish and support processes to improve operational efficiency. Provide off-hours escalation and implementation support. Assist in long-range planning and budget preparation. Work with Customer Advocate to development performance management functional capabilities, processes, and deliverables, including capacity, performance metric development, and contingency planning. Establish policy and procedure for internal functions, creating a responsive group that can effectively support its customers globally. Key Responsibilities: Manage configuration and installation of necessary hardware and software for LAN/WAN environments to provide a suitable climate to run production applications and to perform development. Serve as a lead troubleshooter on complex data network problems including working with vendors of related equipment and services. Creation and maintenance of a network operations calendar that would create routine scheduled maintenance. Develop and maintain accurate customer, service, escalation matrices, and provide effective processes to support individual services that the Network Operations Center offers. Manage equipment and technology used in the Network operations center. Maintain back up and archive systems, ensuring network operations systems, and network infrastructure systems such as routers and core-switching gear is protected against data loss. Manage and tune Networks, ensure top performance (routers, switching, firewalls, etc.). Maintain security QOS and manage remote access systems. Configuration management of all development, testing, and production machines. Interface with internal and external service providers to provide continuity of support.Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities: Experience with WAN based services such as: Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS, ISDN. Experience with the following routing protocols: EIGRP, BGP, OSPF. Senior level LAN skills, layer 2 and layer 3. Network Management tool experience ? SNMP monitoring, sniffer analysis. Experience with network based load balancers. Experience with transmission equipment used in SONET, DS3, and OC3. Excellent communication skills. Basic project management skills. Technical leadership and some supervisory for junior team members. Senior level skill and understanding of principles involving network design and capabilities to interface and contribute to engineering, capacity planning initiatives. Strong understanding and application of the OSI model. Strong interpersonal and strong customer service skills Excellent problem solving and teamwork skills. Ability to prioritize issues in a very dynamic environment. Ability to work autonomously and exercise informed risk-taking practices. Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs. Good judgment and analytical skills; strong follow-up and organizational skills. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and team building skills. Experience: 7+ years of industry experience. 3+ years of senior network experience in 2 or more networking areas (LAN, WAN, FW, NMS, etc.). 2+ years of operations experience on a 24x7 network.
