Job Description
Departmental Manager responsible for developing and managing the Manufacturing Engineering group, to meet company objectives for new product development and improvement of existing product lines. Also manages overall engineering and technical requirements of manufacturing operations. Reports to the Company president.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
* Plans, directs and coordinates Manufacturing Engineering to be fully integrated and effective in supporting Manufacturing operations.
* Develop a detailed knowledge of products and be responsible for the implementation of all new and existing product designs into manufacturing.
* Be able to address technical issues and oversee failure analysis with current designs. Be able to make minor design changes if necessary.
* Ensure that all manufacturing product specifications, BOM structures, testing procedures are in place for manufacturing. Responsible for overseeing the development of all necessary equipment into the manufacturing process. Manages the ECR/ECN process.
* Assists in the assessment of vendors, both current and those being considered. Guide the technical qualification and quality requirements of all vendors supporting the supply chain.
Qualification
Candidate must have:
* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
* Excellent technical skills in engineering management, quality assurance and costing.

* Strong knowledge in writing product specifications.
* Strong knowledge in principles and methods used in manufacturing operations.
* Strong knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, assembly methods and quality control standards.
* Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and complex tasks.
* Excellent management and leadership skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written.
