Emphasis is on mechanical and pneumatic designs for respiratory care related medical devices. Provides guidance to Sustaining and Manufacturing Engineering staff.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates complex mechanical, electromechanical and pneumatic devices and systems.• Performs development, which requires a comprehensive knowledge of mechanical engineering theory and design.• Compiles and evaluates design and test data, prepares technical specifications and other design documents.• Analyzes, develops and recommends design approaches required to meet production requirements.• Coordinates with Technical Support personnel to conduct pilot, prototype or experimental runs for products or processes.• May direct the activities of drafters, designers, technical writers, technicians, engineers and machine shop personnel.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneADDITIONAL DUTIES:• Implement, coordinate, contribute and assist with other projects as assigned, including team participation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below represent the knowledge and skill/ experience required. (or equivalent educational experience) with 5 to 10 years experience; or M.S.M.E. (or equivalent educational experience) with 2 to 5 years experience; or Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent educational experience) with 0 to 2 years experience; or minimum of 15 years of applicable experience for non-degreed individual.• Previous medical device or diagnostic equipment design experience is desirable.• Good written/verbal communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.REQUIRED TRAINING: Safety, Quality, Company Policies, GMP, ISO 13485This is a direct full time employment opportunity.
