Senior Oracle Administrator

91323 Our client is a stable and successful financial institution. This role would involve joining a team as a Senior Oracle Administrator. In this position, you will provide 24 x 7 production support with an emphasis on tuning and performance issues. This position requires experience with administration of Oracle 10g-RAC/9i. Responsibilities include: Installs, creates and maintains all Oracle RDBMS databases, software and tools for development, testing and production environments. Provides performance tuning, restart and recovery. Administers all database objects, including tables, indexes, views, schemas, packages and procedures. Analyzes database performance indicators and recommends improvement actions. Manages and supports various backup and recovery strategies for Oracle databases (e.g. RMAN, Export/import, and IBM TSM). Works closely with application developers, vendors, System Administrators and auditors to ensure best practices for the physical database design, integrity, performance and securities management. Troubleshoots and resolves database, application and development tool related problems. Installs and maintain third-party Oracle tools, such as Spotlight, Foglight, Quest Tools and Statspacks. Provides off-hours production support on a rotating basis.The following experience is required: Strong Oracle database administration (Oracle 9i or above migrating to Oracle 10G). Experience with Solaris, UNIX including Korn Shell scripting fluency. Datawarehousing experience with large databases.
