The primary activities for this job role are to design and develop SOA-based service components to deliver common functionality across the enterprise. These services will encapsulate business logic that leverages a combination of custom data stores and package systems. Additionally, this individual will contribute to the ongoing refinement of our Services Framework (Service Bus) and other framework components developed by the Enterprise Architecture team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform analysis and design for requested servicesDefine and review implementation approach for project teams requiring services Prepare project estimates including design, code and test effort Document project dependencies and risks

Develop functional and technical specifications for SOA based servicesDefine message-based services contracts based on a common message library Define flexible and extensible interfaces based on broad requirements Document call patterns for other developers who will consume services Document usage scenarios in support of test case development and acceptance criteria

Develop service and framework component codeAdhere to services framework patterns and deployment standards Deliver robust and scalable code, demonstrated through performance testing Define and implement thorough unit tests

Act as a liaison to ... Technical staff on project teams requesting or using services QA to support test strategy and test execution Others on the architecture team to support consistency in development and ongoing improvements to architecture frameworks

Analyze and resolve problems with limited supervision.

Minimum five years experience in analyzing, designing and developing client server and object-oriented applications or components3 or more years experience with C# and Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 or higher 1 or more years experience with UML modeling and one or more UML modeling tools Working knowledge of OO Patterns 2 or more years experience with XML, including XSD, XPath, XSLT and .NET Serialization 2 or more years experience with SQL Server 2000 or 2005, SQL Queries, and Transact SQL

Ability to function in multi-project environment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; or six or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
