Software Engineer-Contract -Hire-up to $60ph-Norwich,CT
Purpose and Objectives:
Provide firmware engineering and software engineering for the support and continued development of the inc.jet products.
Essential Job Functions:
" Work both independently and with other members of Engineering, Manufacturing and Service to create new system features, improve ease of manufacturing, and improve reliability.
" Support Manufacturing and Service, as well as Technical writing, by responding to requests for information. Maintain and produce documentation such as source code, script files, external and internal documentation, functional specifications, and other intellectual property.
" Implement any required firmware changes to improve product reliability and production efficiency.
" Has knowledge of commonly-used concept, practices, and procedures related to firmware development.
Technical Knowledge, Experience and Skills Requirements:
The following skills are required:
" BSEE/BSCS and 2 to 5 years experience.
" Excellent embedded C and C++ skills
Experience with object oriented design targeting embedded systems.
" Knowledge of real time operating systems concepts. Experience with Real Time Operating systems such as VxWorks, PSOS, Nucleus.uc/OS a plus.
" Experience developing multi threaded applications in firmware.
" Strong debugging skills, ability to debug firmware in a multi-threaded environment.
" Knowledge of source code revision control applications, and experience interfacing hardware and software
" Must work comfortably in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
The following skills would be a plus:
" Experience programming with embedded processor development environments, such as Green Hills MULTI.
" Oscilloscope, emulator, schematic, Logic Analyzer experience.
" C++/MFC, C#, VB Windows programming; Windows 2000 and WinXP platform experience.
" Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP or HTTP.
" Knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS.
" Java programming experience.
" Experience with GNU tool suite.
