Senior In House General Legal Counsel Top Notch Compensation with Million Dollar Company Location: Cedar Rapids, IA About the Opportunity:  Our client is a specialty pharmaceutical company located in Cedar Rapids, IA.  We are currently looking for Senior Legal General Counsel.  As a member of the senior management team, this attorney will be the company’s lead executive responsible for implementing and managing an extensive regimen of contracting, by which the company outsources certain functions of its business model.  This senior manager will report directly to the President and Chairman of the Board, oversees the company’s compliance with corporate duties, and its risk mitigation program. Even though it is an early stage company, our client acts globally through its various vendors, and intends to sell its products, upon regulatory approval to do so, in North America, Europe, and parts of Asia. The General Counsel will have fundamental day-to-day involvement in the implementation of these plans. Prerequisites and Qualifications:To successfully fulfill this position, the candidate must be admitted to the bar in at least one state and able to perform each of the essential skills and responsibilities listed below with or without direction, on his or her own initiative, and on either an individual or in collaboration with the company’s outside counselors. The company may continue to utilize special or local outside counsel in certain matters, jurisdictions, or areas of the law.  The successful candidate will hold a degree or advanced degree(s) in a healthcare related field and have special training and experience in the regulatory affairs discipline, such as the Regulatory Affairs Certification.  In looking for the right person, we will heavily value first-hand and relevant experience in similar positions, successfully performed over a sustained period of time. We are seeking a professional with experience of at least five (5) in a similar position and a progression of increasing responsibility building that experience.  The more first-hand experience and training across the entire breadth of the field of pharmaceutical development and production that a candidate can document, the greater will be the likely fit of the candidate to this position.  Compensation and Benefits: The salary for this position is negotiable and will be highly competitive vis-à-vis the successful applicant’s documented compensation history.  Health and retirement benefits are included as is relocation assistance if applicable.  The salary range for this position starts at $150K.  Our client is family focused and not only offers an exceptional compensation and benefits package, but also prides itself on a work hard, play hard model that puts family first.
