Sr. PHP Developer

90950 Small, innovative interactive firm in Brooklyn is seeking a talented PHP developer to be the first hire on their back-end engineering team. You will play a critical role in building robust PHP backends to tie into progressive, innovative, rich Flash-based front-ends. Great opportunity for a strong PHP developer to work on a variety of projects, enjoy a flat hierarchy and a friendly environment, while also working on cutting-edge technology projects. This work will cover a range of projects for their clients, everything from robust web applications and banner ads, to the more traditional websites using Web 2.0 trends. With this being the first hire in an expanding area, there is definitely an opportunity for this person to provide leadership/mentoring abilities as they expand the team in the future. Qualifications for consideration: * 3+ years of PHP development experience, using both PHP4/5. * 2+ years of working with Linux/MySQL technologies, with an ability to do light sys admin work as needed. * Must have experience building technology to support Flash-based front-end technology. * Should have experience building apps/websites for external clients, though you don't need to have formal interactive agency experience. * Any work directly with Flash, Ruby, Actionscript, or Flex is preferred. * Ecommerce experience is also a plus.
