Join us in our business of innovation and soar with your imagination, your vision, your technical prowess and your desire to do things differentResponsibilities/Expectations: Contribute to the mechanical design and development of new 3GSM product handsets Utilizing best in class tools to develop innovative solutions to design challenges. Identify design issues and determine design direction, goals and planning tasks for segments of engineering programs. Generate and maintain mechanical engineering schedule for your own tasks and responsibilities. Determine and implement changes to enhance design or meet functional specifications. Meet cost goals and monitor current cost status. Soliciting guidance/feedback as necessary to improve performance. Perform stress, and tolerance analyses on new or existing designs or concepts to determine theoretical design feasibility. Design and conduct experiments using statistical tools and techniques to confirm analyses, evaluating new or existing designs to conform to product specifications. Develop and present test plans when problems arise, coordinating testing and data acquisition. Interface with program team members, suppliers and customers. Negotiating costs and lead-times with suppliers for tooling and piece part costs. Negotiate tasks and schedules with other internal groups to ensure conformance to product schedules. Travel to customers, suppliers and/or factories in remote locations.Knowledge Skills: BSME degree is required. Experience in product development: 0 - 1 years. Must have an understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes such as injection molding, sheet metal and castings, design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Posses a working knowledge of worst-case and statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning and geometric tolerancing. Possess a working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and general mechanical engineering analysis. Possess analytical/problem solving skills, data acquisition skills, and ability to use statistical tools and techniques. Able to solve difficult problems involving testing, planning and implementation for new parts. Knowledge of design engineering, test processes and factory processes. Basic computer skills, Pro/Engineer preferred and working knowledge of common business applications. Possess good written and verbal communication skills. Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to operate within a team environment. Good organizational and time management skills, including daily and weekly planning and multitasking. Ability to create/read/interpret engineering drawings. Negotiation skills, presentation skills and ability to effectively conduct meetingsBasic Qualifications: BS Mechanical Engineering degree is required.0 - 1 Years of Mechanical Engineering Design Experience.
