Position Details:

Seeking a Program Manager with broad background in System, Engineering, and Project/Program Management to plan and manage the technical aspects of multiple Projects to achieve company goals, per the program plan to meet the specifications, target cost, performance, reliability, schedule and safety.
Using strong technical expertise, good planning and organizational skills, the PM will work with all necessary functions including all engineering disciplines, planning, procurement, manufacturing, program management, and finance to ensure that the work gets completed on-time and on-budget. Detail orientation to probe and find underlying issues involved in any related problem will be coupled with “big picture” ability to lead projects and achieve the departmental objectives. A successful Program Manager is a skilled negotiator. He or she gathers information, opinions and create / champion a clear plan of action. Effectively working with the internal or external customer is a critical aspect of success. A track record of overcoming challenges through innovative solutions is an indication of successful Program Manager.
Program Manager will lead and direct the Program team for assigned project activities, collaborate closely with various functional groups concerning Program status and resource requirements and expedite Program workflow for Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Optical Engineering by distributing assignments to ensure work is not overlooked, ignored or past schedule. It is critical that the Program Manager creates and manage project schedules and teams for maximum efficiency. Also closely monitors Program earned value and provide %-complete report.

 

Requirements:

The Program Manager generally needs a minimum of 5 years managing broad technical projects and formal Program management training. PMP certification preferred.
They are strong-willed and do not accept excuses. Getting the projects done despite the challenges is a traditional trait the best Program Managers portray. Flexibility is part of this. This means bending to meet personnel challenges, adaptability in coordinating the inputs of others, and creativity in obtaining added resources.

Ø Must be creative, open-minded, a good communicator, and a good listener
Ø Must be able to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to technical and non-technical internal customers
Ø Must be able to work in fast paced, schedule driven environment
Ø Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple Programs
Ø Acute attention to detail
Ø Excellent organizational skills
Ø Able to work with general office equipment, computers & peripherals, in a standard office & manufacturing environment
Ø Able to logically address, analyze, and resolve problems.
Ø Demonstrable knowledge of Earned Value, MS Office and MS Program preferred

EDUCATION
Bachelors in Engineering, MBA desired
