POSITION TITLE: Account Executive – Outside Sales
REPORTS TO: Director, Solutions Sales
POSITION SUMMARY
Sells the COMPANY’s products and services to customers. Consistently meets or exceed quotas imposed by the COMPANY. Interacts with departments involved in fulfillment (e.g. Order Entry, Project Management, Product Management, Systems Engineering, Technical Assistance Center, Help Desk, Warehouse, etc.) to deliver a positive buying experience to the customer. Provides customers with product or service information to assist them in determining the appropriate equipment solution. Responsible for prospecting and creating new business using both COMPANY ‐ provided and self‐generated leads.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Cold Calls – generate new customers for the COMPANY. Order Entry – support customer orders by facilitating shipment of systems and components including tracking and coordinating of installation and service where applicable. Marketing campaign support – participates in marketing campaigns, taking calls from postcard, telemarketing and internet marketing initiatives. Product Knowledge – participates in COMPANY‐provided and manufacturer‐provided training and self‐paced instruction to maintain effective knowledge of COMPANY’s products, services, and applications. Schedule ‐ 8am to 5pm Monday – Friday. The Account Manager is expected to attend scheduled COMPANY meetings, including sales meetings, but otherwise organize their time to meet or exceed quota requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS Previous sales success is a must. The ability to function with flexibility, integrity and professionalism; ability to adjust communications to specific situation/level of knowledge; effective presenter. College degree or equivalent; 2‐5 years experience selling in a hunter/prospecting role.Sales training certification(s) preferred (Emphasis on Avaya Certified Associate – Sales). Specialized knowledge and skills include: software and technical solution sales experience (including Avaya pricing and product sets), market knowledge; CRM, Excel and project tracking software knowledge.

Negotiation skills Must be familiar and proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word. Must have business‐level mathematical skills, and be able to understand and calculate margin, markup and Return on Investment. Will be required to use COMPANY‐developed sales tracking tools, email, instant messaging, voice and voicemail communications Must be able to write a coherent and concise business letter using correct grammar, syntax and spelling, and be able to understand and coordinate proposal generation
OTHER FIDUCIARY REQUIREMENTS
By the nature of this position and its reporting structure, the Account Executive will work closely with external (COMPANY clients and prospective clients) and internal customers (e.g., Project Management, Technical Assistance Center, Project Management, Order Entry, Shipping, Help Desk).
