Position Overview
This is your opportunity to make your mark with an energetic team and growing company! The Web and Telesales channels are a major component of the Consumer Marketing Group. In this new position, you will use your marketing performance and analytics knowledge to positively impact the Direct Channel team in helping them drive sales and transactions and become a prominent distribution channel for the business. You will work closely with both the Web Channel and with Telesales as well as with our online agency to ensure consistent data including sales forecasts, actuals, variance analysis, web and telesales call metrics as well as uncover trends and patterns that will aid the team in building the web and telesales channels. Your ability to think out of the box and help us grow as a department will be critical to the group’s success. Essential Functions:
Project/Functional Management: Responsible for the development of the annual, quarterly and monthly forecasting of budgets and sales goals, revenue and margins as well as the day to day execution of forecasting, reporting, analysis and learnings of both web and telesales channels. Provide monthly volume forecasts to vendors and internal depts. for proper allocation of resources, inventory and bandwidth. Refine/improve forecasting processes (e.g. delve into reasons behind the actuals vs forecasts for improved forecasting. Develop new methodologies and test them, etc. Develop budget, forecasting and metrics learning presentations for business plans, actions plans, p&l’s and management in general. Address data, metrics and financial concerns/questions of management and executive leadership. Conduct consistent budget tracking and analytics, including invoice reconciliation, reporting, cost and process improvement opportunities and solutions as needed. Work with finance organization to develop business models quantifying the financial impacts associated with a project, business plan etc.. Support the web and telesales teams with financial and metrics support for new initiatives and projects. Identify web and telesales subscriber trends/patterns, explaining business results and developing recommendations based on findings. This is a critical position and the person chosen that must be comfortable proactively seeking out business owners and developing metrics and communicating implications to the appropriate business owners. This person must be able to juggle multiple tasks from multiple business owners in an organized and competent manner in addition to ongoing daily tasks.
Team Member: Actively participate as a Direct Channel team member including staff meetings, off-sites, on-time deliverables, planning activities, process improvements. Lead participant to ensure consistency in Web and Telesales data, metrics and analytics.
EducationBachelor’s degree in Finance or Marketing requiredMasters Degree in Finance or Marketing preferred
Industry Experience4-5 years web and/or telesales experience in a consumer retail, product or service company required4-5 years of web and telesales subscriber, prospect or customer behavior, customer ops, retention or loyalty experience preferred
Job Experience Required 4-5 year proven ability to deliver forecasting, metrics reporting, analysis and learnings for a consumer retail organization. Skilled with data acquisition, manipulation, and presentation. Advanced Excel skills. Familiar with database tools, business objects, and access as well as comfortable with web metrics tools such as HBX. Strong business understanding of accounting and financial concepts. Must be able to multi-task and have strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communications skills.Basic SQL understanding is highly desirable. Past P&L reporting and business modeling experience preferred.
