SI International is looking for an Associate Video Engineer to be a member of the C4I2TSR Command and Control Section. Applicant will be responsible for: Technically design and comprehension of Audio/Visual (AV) Information and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) system projects. Development of deliverable documentation including: Engineering Studies, Technical Solutions, Program Support Agreements, Installation Plans, Engineering Drawings Packages and As-Built Packages. Evaluating, designing, documenting, installing, implementing, testing, and performing problem isolation and resolution on Audio and Video systems. Monitoring, tuning, setting configurations, and maintaining a range of AV and VTC components and systems. Performing functions per project requirements and equipment including: audio and video switchers, video display devices (projectors, TV Monitors, plasma monitors, video wall), H.320 multi-point control units, bridges, H.323 gateways, computer display interfaces, and telecommunications transport facilities. Providing client consulting and training on control, interfaces and use of the Audio/Video and VTC equipment. Planning research, evaluating, and recommending new AV and VTC equipment and technologies. Utilizing monitoring, performance analysis, software and hardware equipment to trouble shoot and isolate problems, gauge performance and record activity. Devising solutions to moderately complex operation problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Required Skills
The qualified candidate should possess: Familiarity with H.320 and H.323 Video Teleconferencing Standards. Working knowledge of Video Teleconferencing Hub and Audio/Video Switching Technologies. AMX and/or Crestron Programming experience preferred. Working technical knowledge of audio visual platforms, including video conferencing, bridging services, desktop video products and systems such as (Polycom and Tandberg). Ability to coordinate, procure, cable, test and install A/V equipment, including but not limited to; overhead projectors, microphones, public address system, podiums, lighting, video walls, and VTC cameras. Ability to perform regular equipment maintenance and minor repair and/or replace defective electronic components. Experience with electrical and low-voltage wiring for automation control systems. (Crestron /AMX control systems) Knowledge of Video Switchers and Routers Experience with Cat5/6 wiring concepts and fiber optic technology for secure networks. Knowledge and experience configuring Wide Area Networks including router, firewall and proxy configuration, bandwidth management, tunneling protocols and encryption ad algorithms. Required ExperienceThe qualified candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Telecommunication Engineering or System Engineering with at least 2 years experience in an Audio/Video and Video Teleconferencing related discipline. In lieu of degree, a technical Associates Degree with applicable years of Audio/Video and Video Teleconferencing related experience would be considered.
