Due to our continued growth and customer demand we are currently recruiting for a Cable Fitter I position that is located in Joliet, IL. The shift is 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

 

Job Title: Cable Fitter I

Summary:

Cut various types and sizes of coaxial cable to specified lengths; fit appropriate connectors as required; may test per specifications; pack and label according to drawings, routings, customers, etc. Meet company quality standards, product specifications, and customer requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities:

- Select appropriate cable stock and cut to specified length using correct cutting method and tools for the specific cable type.

- Select appropriate cable end fittings in accordance with specification or order; attach, assemble, and solder using specified tools and methods. Inspect cable end and take required measurements (e.g. pin length, etc.) to confirm proper attachment. Test cables and perform final measures to confirm that completed cable meets required dimensions and performance specifications.

- Pack Cable and label carton per print, routings, or customer orders.

- Label reels and apply protective covering (lagging) per print and routing.

 

Qualifications:

- A high School diploma or equivalent

- Plus 3-6 months general factory or industrial experience.

 

Required skills include:

- Ability to understand dimensional drawings and assembly diagrams.

- Successful candidates are expected to be able to pass the certification test within 12 months.

 

Equipment Operation:

Specialized measuring tools and devices, cable cutting equipment, hand tools, soldering gun, basic electrical continuity and voltage testing equipment.
