Central Office Installer/Technician - Level 1

DYNIS is a network infrastructure services company that specializes in the design, build, and maintenance of mission critical networks.  DYNIS provides a full suite of information technology and network infrastructure solutions for telecommunications service providers and large enterprise networks.  DYNIS has established itself as one of the leading network infrastructure services companies focusing on engineering, furnishing, and installation (EF&I) services.  Verizon Communications, AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, Comcast, CISCO, and others have entrusted DYNIS with numerous large network deployment and implementation projects.  These projects include the engineering and installation of optical, video, data, and power equipment from various manufacturers.  Dynis is seeking entry level CO Installers for both day and night shifts.




Responsibilities:

· Perform continuity test of cables and wires using appropriate methods and test equipment

· Drill and anchor frames/bays/racks in line-ups and stanchions

· Installation of superstructure

o Auxiliary framing (support frame, cable racks, ladders, conduit, bus bar, etc)

o Cable rack deck, cable brackets, fastening material

o Cable (ladder) racks (ladder, bar, fiber management/raceway, etc)

o Cable hole/slot sheation & fiber stopping

o Distribution frame verticals, horizontals, & terminal strips

o Miscellaneous hardware guard rails, brackets

o Isolation pads, fiber board, etc., hardware, earthquake bracing

· Install power plants

o Pull set-ups and run power cabling

o Sew #6, 4, 1/0, 2/0, 4/0, 350 MCM, 500 MCM, 750 MCM

· Install bay & frame AC wiring and lighting

o Mounting, wire, and connect

· Cable set-ups, running, forming, & label

o Communication, fiber, sync, alarm customer interface

o Prepare twisted pair, butt, strip, fan skin, place connector, crimp

·  Coax cable and/or pack cable

o Preparation of, strip, skin, place connector and crimp

· Central office switch and/or clock

o Assemble and install central office switch and/or clock

o Install circuit packs while observing handling and electrostatic discharge precautions

· Perform inventory

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·  Basic knowledge of electricity AC/DC

·  Read simple electrical and mechanical documentation

·  Understand and use established safety and quality control practices

·  Follow directions

·  Work in team environment

·  Perform general equipment installation tasks

·  High School Diploma Required

·  0 – 2 years experience

Initially, the job site will be in Gaithersburg, MD.
