Central Office Power Engineer

DYNIS is a network infrastructure services company that specializes in the design, build, and maintenance of mission critical networks.  DYNIS provides a full suite of information technology and network infrastructure solutions for telecommunications service providers and large enterprise networks.  DYNIS has established itself as one of the leading network infrastructure services companies focusing on engineering, furnishing, and installation (EF&I) services.  Verizon Communications, AT&T Mobility, Verizon Wireless, Comcast, CISCO, and others have entrusted DYNIS with numerous large network deployment and implementation projects.  These projects include the engineering and installation of optical, video, data, and power equipment from various manufacturers.  We are seeking an experienced Central Office Power Engineer to join our team.




ResponsibilitiesConduct site surveys of potential and new projectsDetermine floor plan layouts, power distribution, back up power supplies, and cabling of central office equipmentDesign, identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low and high level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and accurate equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) as a result of installation or engineering activities Enter project information into company proprietary databaseCollaborate with customers to identify customer needs and requirementsCoordinate with Forman to balance and communicate project and resources planning requirements and costs

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience and in-depth knowledge of DC & AC power systems in a telecommunications  environment, and detailed knowledge of carrier’s network architecture and infrastructureDetailed understanding of MOPs and SPECs, and telcordia and IP standardsExperience creating and modifying Autocad and Visio drawingsProficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook

Additional Professional/Educational ExperienceMinimum two year technical degree and/or equivalent experienceTraining required in power systems, including vendor (e.g. Tyco, Emerson) specific equipment
