Commodity Leader

Location: US-NC-Raleigh/Durham-RTP Requisition ID:  REQ58445553 (Post ID:70999428) Job Level:  Experienced (Non-Manager)Commodity Leader Individuals in this position manage supply chain execution for select Nortel supply agreements.  This role provides experience in a variety of critical Operations’ activities including:§ Meeting customer needs and ensuring  Nortel revenue through Order Fulfillment, Purchasing and Expediting;  § Achieving Operations’ cost and inventory targets through materials dispositioning, and executing portfolio changes with suppliers and internal Nortel portfolio owners, managers and supply chain personnel§  Creating more efficient Operations through Data Analysis for accurate systems/databases and identification of process improvements. The Commodity Leader interfaces with a multitude of groups in Nortel Operations teams, Nortel design and Product Line Manager (PLM) groups, Nortel Supply Relationship Managers, Nortel Order Management/Order Fulfillment, Nortel Accounts Payables and various suppliers.  Key Responsibilities:§ Manage supply into the Finished Goods warehouses, ensuring service and inventory targets are met, and adhering to the approved vendor list.§  Manage supplier performance and key business metrics§ Maintain database accuracy:  suppliers, purchase info records§ Ensure problem invoices (AP issues) and receivers are resolved in a timely fashion.§ Manage material snags timely.§ Manage phase in/out with suppliers.§ Manage disposition of returned material and bottlenecks within the supply chain.§ Initiate shipping tickets and junk tickets as required. Skills Required:§ English proficiency with strong oral and written communication skills.§ Self motivated§ Capable of working to tight deadlines§ Strong computer skills (MS Office applications, MS Access)§ Strong working knowledge of SAP an asset§  Ability to team with other key business functions to meet promised delivery commitments as well as inventory and cost objectives§  Strong organizational skills, negotiation skills, solid analytical skills, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a high level of computer literacy§Ability to prioritize tasks and meet critical deadlines.§ Flexibility to respond to opportunities/issues by providing timely and accurate data.  § Ability to interpret supplier contracts. § Leadership and people management abilities   Travel Required:  Minimal travel Position Type:  Full Time, Employee Relocation assistance:  None,  Homebase Eligible:  NO Shift:  Day/First Shift Business Unit:  Global Ops and Quality
