JOB SUMMARY
The Construction Technician inspects construction for new build, maintenance and relocations projects.

Job Responsibilities
Travels to and inspects regularly the progress and quality of construction projects performed by system personnel. Prepares material orders for construction. Inspects pole installations to ensure compliance with work specifications. Logs work completed and prepares progress reports as required. Provides information as directed about problems or potential problems that might impede progress. Work independently and with construction contractors to resolve homeowner complaints. Understand how to read construction maps including HFC and FTTH network maps and city plat maps installation and location of equipment, such as amplifiers, power supplies and cable.

Essential Job Functions
Able to climbs ladders, towers or other structures as needed
Carries and lifts loads of up to 70 lbs.
Uses bucket truck when required
Valid driver's license; satisfactory driving record
Ability to maintain DOT certification

Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, with knowledge of construction, electrical codes, and safety precautions
3 - 5 years telecommunication experience
At least 1 year construction experience
Must possess good customer/homeowner relation skills
Ability to read and utilize system maps and plans
Knowledge of National Electrical Code, Occupational Safety & Health Act (OSHA) and related state and local codes
