We are currently seeking a Desktop Systems Specialist III
Duties and Responsibilities: Installs, configures, and troubleshoots desktop systems, workstations, servers, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.Maintains passwords, data integrity, and security for the desktop environment.Communicates highly technical information to both technical and non-technical personnelRecommends hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgradesAnalyzes, installs, acquires, modifies, and supports operating systems, database, applications, or utilities softwareAssists with various administrative and record-keeping such as fixed asset inventory and software license managementParticipates in development of information technology and infrastructure projectsConducts training designed to educate an organization’s computer users about basic and specialized applications
Skills and Abilities:Thorough knowledge of PC hardware/software configuration and maintenanceWorking knowledge/understanding of networked systemsStrong customer service skills and ability to work with users of all skill levelsWorking knowledge of server support and patching methodologyStrong working knowledge of computer systems problem managementKnowledge of internet technologies (hardware and software) and protocolsWorking knowledge of system security and workstation technologyWorking knowledge of Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/2003, Microsoft Business Products, Microsoft Outlook/ExchangeStrong analytical, diagnostic and problem resolution skillsAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress Ability to work independently in a fast-paced unstructured environment with little supervisionGood verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate clearly and effectivelyAbility to prioritize, plan work to accomplish goals, and schedule tasks to meet deadlines, Ability to compose routine reports and correspondence.Ability to think outside the box, be creative, and take initiative Ability to perform work functions with a consistently high degree of efficiency, thoroughness, accuracy and follow throughAbility to manage multiple tasks and priorities and to positively and quickly adapt to changing needsStrong organizational, administrative and project management skills
Education and Experience:2+ Year technical degree/certification2+ years experience with Microsoft BackOffice products, including Exchange Server, Active Directory, SharePoint and Internet Information Server3+ years experience with Oracle Applications 10.7SC or later as System Administrator
