Dir, Business Operations/System Controller US-LA-New Orleans Description:Cox Job Summary:The Director of Business Operations/System Controller will lead the Accounting, Revenue & Quality Assurance, Finance, and Internal controls department for Coxs New Orleans operation reporting to the VP of Business Operations. This key system leadership position will require a broad range of professional, technical, and operational skills and experience including; strong operational accounting, financial & capital planning, strong financial and business analysis, operations planning and execution, and utilization of key business performance metrics and tracking mechanisms. Leadership and development of professional team members and peers is critical to the successful execution of this role.Cox Job Specifications:The Director of Business Operations/Controller will provide general leadership for all accounting and internal control policy and practice, financial reporting, business planning activities and analysis for the consolidated business unit, and other business operations responsibilities. This position will provide key leadership in Business Operations focused on ensuring our financials are timely and accurate, our planning process runs smoothly and successfully, and that we are managing business in compliance with GAAP and industry best practices.Key activities will include; ownership of annual and periodic financial and business planning processes, development and performance of benchmarking and production goals, measurement of operating results against plan, production of monthly results and performance analysis, decision-support analysis, and general accounting and financial reporting. This leader will ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely management of the financial statements and business plan for the system operation and will strategically be a key participant in financial, operational, and forecast/budget discussions with senior management, offering input and suggestions for financial and operational improvement. Provides leadership to improve operations, develop personnel, and build effective teamwork within the business operations function. Cable industry preferred. BS/BA in Finance or Accounting (or relevant field). CPA/MBA is strongly preferred. Experience in both corporate and field operations a plus. Must have well developed understanding and track record in; GAAP, accounting operations, financial/business planning, and business operations analysis. Proven ability to successfully create accurate and informative financial reports for senior management. Demonstrated capacity for strategic thinking and business development.
