Director, Global Supply Chain
Description:
The Director will direct the day-to-day operations through team members and hands-on-responsibility, global supply and maintenance of the CapRock facilities in Houston, Texas and globally, negotiating contracts, establishing vendor relations, and ensuring proper inventory and procurement for most effective operation of the Company. Strategic planning for materials and equipment acquisition and procedures are important, as well as ensuring alignment with cost, logistics, purchasing and customer service deliverables.
Responsibilities:Support, develop and lead a global replenishment plan for each supply facility. Provide project management oversight to each supply facility and ensure equipment maintenance where necessary.Responsible for managing bidding, vendor relationships and all phases of supply chain administration. Coach and lead supply chain and facilities maintenance staff directly and/or indirectly. Proven ability to recruit, train, direct and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth.Responsible for maintaining the appearance, function and overall operation of the infrastructure of the facilities. Select the most cost-effective materials, products, systems, contractors and warranties to ensure long term protection assets. Establish, direct and lead organization to support improved forecasts for business direction and profitability. Ensure the most efficient capacity plan by site is defined and executed for minimum waste with maximum service. Ensure resources pertaining to materials supply are accurate and timely controlled. Investigate, develop and propose continual opportunities for supply efficiency and business profitability. Assist with the development of global supply chain budget and manage budget to ensure cost-effectiveness.Assist in relocation, expansion, and consolidation of services and equipment across global operations. Provide access and availability reports to management as required.Develop and execute reports and analysis to help drive business decisions.Attention to detail and highly responsive to changing demands.Ability to identify and resolve problems with sound and accurate judgment. Ability to interface and communicate effectively with executive management and all other functions within the organization.Ability to facilitate change to meet the demands of the business. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong team leadership skills.Some domestic and international travel may be required, approximately 15 - 25%. Projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10+ years experience supply chain management (satellite related service or oil and gas industry preferred). Bachelor’s Degree in business, supply management, or related field required; advanced degree preferred Proven track record of effective supply chain management and experience with oversees multi-locationsExcellent written & verbal communication skills Technical knowledge Strong leadership & presentation skills Superior teamwork skills Ability to plan and organize efficiently and effectively Sound judgment/problem solving skills Strong negotiation skills Organizational agility/ability to get things done through othersProficient in Microsoft Office suite. Must be a self starter
