Director of Data Center Operations

This is a mid-level, hands on, management position leading the Data Center team to ensure service levels in a complex, multi-tiered 24x7 environment. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for maintaining a centralized, secure, and stable environment in the Corporate Data Center for both internal and client systems and networksAdminister performance reviews and career planning, and provide leadership to Data Center Operations team members Provides recommendations and participates in the decision making process for enterprise-wide technology acquisitionsKey player in enterprise security policy creation aligning with ISO17799 and Payment Card Industry standards for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery PlanningMaintains Information Security Management System which include backup, change control, change management, security, incident response, and site recovery proceduresSystem owner of all Microsoft Windows enterprise servers including Active Directory, SQL database, and Web servers.Assists network team in maintenance of the MPLS network, centralized internet access, point-to-point client T1s, VPN connectivity (routers, switches, firewalls, and local networks), IP configuration, VLAN assignment, and DMZ architecture.Develop and maintain a strict patch management strategy ensuring that all environments (Development, Test, Staging, and Production) are consistent, and updatedMaintains and reports server/router/switch logs for reboots, site code/database promotions, intrusion detection, backups, and audit logs for all site locations

 

Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline Experience managing Data Center personnel including hiring, termination, and administering performance reviews 5+ years of experience in administration and support of server operations 3+ years of experience in administration and support of Data Center Infrastructure Operations, including monitoring of servers and storage environments Deep knowledge of Active Directory AdministrationExperience with MS Exchange AdministrationExperience with fault-tolerant systems including clusters, fail over systems, RAID storage, and volume managementFundamental understanding of TCP/IP on Windows, Solaris and LINUX Server operating systems Knowledge of Storage and Backup managementExcellent verbal and written communication skills Strong ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision Strong ability to organize workload for effective implementation Strong customer and results orientation
