Location: US-NC-Raleigh/Durham-RTP Requisition ID: REQ58841969 (Post ID:70246989) Job Level: Experienced (Non-Manager)Nortel, a recognized global leader in communications equipment and services, is searching for an employee relations professional with experience in the technology industry to help support the internal communications needs of the company’s Global Operations organization and its key executives.As part of the Corporate Communications team, this person will be responsible for providing strategy, direction and daily guidance for Global Operations employee communications. Key to this role is the ability to build relationships with Nortel’s 8000+ Global Operations executive team, creating a complete and consistent communications strategy. The individual in this role will be expected to establish and maintain strong relationships with Nortel's Global Operations senior vice president and his staff, and will have primary responsibility for communications driven from the executive office.Key accountabilities:* Develops internal communications strategies by leveraging human resources strategies and goals; conferring with top management on business/communication objectives; analyzing both employee and needs.* Develops internal communications vehicles by evaluating and testing approaches including integrated mix of print and electronic means; preparing development guidelines; establishing standards.* Prepares communications by designing formats, art, and copy layout; collecting, researching, and verifying data; conducting interviews; writing and editing articles and key messages; soliciting writers; arranging for photography, videos, and films; providing recommendations regarding internal communications issues.* Disseminates information by selecting appropriate vehicles; publishing intranet newsletters, organizational updates, new media such as online discussions forums, etc.; designing and maintaining a web site; updating information.* Maintains internal communications results by establishing, maintaining, and enforcing organization-wide standards; coaching communicators.* Improves internal communications by evaluating understanding and retention; conducting surveys; analyzing feedback; evaluating new techniques.* Meets employee communications financial objectives by estimating requirements; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.* Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing internal communications data and trends.* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.* Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Skills/Qualifications: Written Communication, Communication Processes, Internal Communications, Collaboration and Teamwork, Organizational Astuteness, Initiative, Informing, Developing Standards, Promoting Process Improvement, Attention to Detail, Productivity.
