Main Purpose of the Role and Key Responsibilities:

Global Procurement is currently searching for a highly motivated candidate that is interested in developing their career within the field of category management. As a category manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing global IT & SW Procurement category strategies. This position will report directly into Global Procurement IT Hardware & Services Category Group Manager. The Category Manager has the responsibility to secure a maximum profit contribution from purchasing for his assigned spend categories. Other key responsibilities include:
• Definition, cross-functional alignment, implementation and review of purchasing strategies for assigned spend categories.
• Consideration of leading-edge solutions/innovations, program-specific requirements, long-term strategies, pooling opportunities, benchmarking data, and supplier evaluation results.
• Price and contract negotiations with suppliers to secure quotations, pricing, payment terms, lead time, capacity, delivery terms, logistics performance and quality from a Total-cost-of-Ownership.
• Working with the regionally based CMO organization to support the Service Business areas by providing global purchasing strategies throughout the regions.
• Lead and support special projects in conjunction with cross-functional partners (i.e. sales, engineering, business lines) to optimize supplier and category specific strategies.

 Requirements:

This candidate will successfully apply complex knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Cross-functional experience coupled with the ability to work within a global team is essential to the success of this role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (including fluency in both written and spoken English) are also required. Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above are required.
