Hardware Board Design Engineer

As a key contributor in a team creating high-complexity networking platforms, you will be member of a team building complex systems. Must be able to jump-start projects through hands-on design. Required to have hands-on experience in design, validation, and production release of high-speed and high-complexity networking boards. Working knowledge of Multi-Gigabit Switching Fabrics, Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet Standards, IO protocols/standards is expected. Experience in Analog design would be a plus.

 

 Hands-on Responsibilities:

1. Create Design Specifications for Networking Platforms, boards, other designs, as applicable

2. Part selection and sourcing

3. Schematic Capture

4. Manage PCB layout and interaction with mechanical, SI, power, etc groups

5. Board bring up and test

6. Trouble-shooting using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers

7. Characterization

8. Writing board documentation and test procedures

9. Transition to manufacturing

 

Experience:

3-5 yrs experience in high-speed board design

Solid understanding of digital logic, signal integrity, power circuitry, and high-speed PCB design techniques

Experience with FPGAs, Ethernet PHYs, High-speed Memories, PLLs, Power Supply Design, Processor-memory subsystem design, etc.

Experience with Board Simulations is a plus

Working knowledge in DFM, DFT, DVT, and Manufacturing Issues

Ability to contribute with minimal supervision in a start-up-like environment

Excellent communication skills
