Headend Supervisor

Supervises and coordinates daily job functions of headend technicians. Manages the daily operations of the headend. Coordinates activities between departments to ensure continuous business operation. Proactively supports and motivates employees. Establish performance goals and monitors progress through coaching, mentoring and career development. Communicates and manages to Comcast policies and procedures. Foster a climate of mutual respect that values the contributions of individual team members and maximizes the diverse talents of each employee. Ensure system and staff is able to respond to the demands of new technology deployment through demonstrative methods. Work with other departments as necessary to maintain an in-depth technical knowledge of new technology being deployed. Must have punctual, regular and consistent attendance-

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
-Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
-One year of supervisor experience (preferred)
-Thee years of headend experience
-Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA
- Advanced data networking skills to include router configuration, TCP/IP, DHCP, and knowledge of ATM and SONET networks. Modulation and Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques. A/D conversion techniques, Encoders, MPEG compression
-Knowledge of advanced mathematics-Ability to work independently
-Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
-Familiarity with real time status monitoring procedures
-Basic knowledge of HFC network overview to include: digital, data and combining networks
-Advanced knowledge of RF sweeping and balancing techniques in order to diagnose system anomalies
