Human Resources Generalist - Strong Employee Relations Background Required

 

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Business Partner works as a strategic business partner with management and employees within the Los Angeles North Division to accomplish operational, customer satisfaction and business unit goals including the creation and maintenance of positive employee relations. Facilitates the work of the HR Team in the implementation and administration of human resource policies and programs to meet organizational needs and comply with all applicable laws, including the creation and maintenance of appropriate documentation to comply with specific Corporate guidelines and policies.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Partners with and advises management on the resolution of employee relations, corrective action and performance issues.

·  Implements employee incentive and motivational programs designed to create and support a positive work environment.

·  Investigates allegations of harassment, discrimination, violations of policy and other matters.

·  Works to resolve employee conflicts in an effective manner.

·  Provides consultation and guidance to management regarding hiring decisions.

·  Partners with Talent Acquisition Team in recruiting-related activities including development of job descriptions, interviewing or reviewing candidates, creation and maintenance of Requisition Files.

·  Develops and/or implements client group training in areas of performance management, coaching and evaluating employees, new hire processes, etc.

·  Assures compliance with EEO, Affirmative Action and FCC laws and regulations. Assists with the preparation of employee data and reporting.

·  Assists with the creation and maintenance of employee relations and personnel files.

·  Provides general support to management in the implementation of initiatives to facilitate Time Warner Cable’s Missions and Values including the implementation of the Standards of Business Conduct.

·  Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

·  Bachelors’ degree in Human Resources or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Human Resources Professional Certification (PHR) preferred.

·  3-5 years recent experience as a human resource generalist in a heavy service, field operations or call center setting.

·  Employee and labor relations experience in both union and non-union environments required.

·  Extensive working knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing employment practices.

·  Demonstrated competencies in all areas of Human Resources including staffing, employee relations, compensation, and benefits.

·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills; including developing and  presenting training programs.

·  Excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

·  Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to create positive working relationships with all levels within the organization.

·  Must be able to work extended hours as needed.

·  PC proficiency in software applications to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook

Finally, the employee generally works in an indoor office environment.
