IPS-Cusromer Marketing Manager-Transportation

Join the team that's transforming the way the world communicates.   With operations in 130 countries, Alcatel-Lucent is the first truly global communications solutions provider, offering the most complete end-to-end portfolio of solutions and services in the industry.  Our passionate and experienced team converts challenges into opportunities in the areas of third-generation mobile networking, metro optical and packet, circuit-to-packet, broadband access, advanced network and professional services, and next-generation operations support systems.  Key Responsibilities Include: Working with customers, account teams and other stakeholders, this individual is to be seen as the industry marketing expert for the  transportation segment-  (e.g. business trends, customer drivers, macro market analysis, in-depth knowledge of the competitive environment, specific needs of the customer’s customer….).  This individual will also provide market positioning and messaging, and analyze the business implications of new and potentially disruptive technologies into their market sector. Additionally, this person will be responsible for creating measurable demand in the transportation segment - both through tactical awareness/lead generation programs and  through strategic, segment specific thought leadership projects that deliver ALU's unique value proposition, and drive incremental opportunities to sales.  ExperiencePosition requires 5 to 7 years’ related experience (with demonstrated progress) within the technology or telecommunications industries, or relevant direct experience within specific and related industries (e.g. Healthcare, State/Local Gov’t, Education, Energy / Utilities,…).  Required Skills and Behaviors ·  Demonstrated understanding of customer value chain within specific and targeted industry·  Strong business acumen and experience in the telecom service / technology sector ·    Excellent analytical skills but also strong ability to provide a “global picture” on complex issues ·  Strong financial skills and ability to translate those financial principles into business terms  ·  Accountability / reliability·  Ability to seek information from various sources and synthesize properly·  Ability to create relationships and gain credibility with counterparts in Alcatel-Lucent·  Strong team spirit and distant management skills (virtual team) ·  Self-starter and hard worker (hands on)·  Curious and creative with good lateral thinking … but very organized and rigorous·  Used to working under stress and respecting strict confidentiality requirements·  English working language  Basic understanding of the CBG, SBG and EBG portfolios and how they translate to Transportation value.    Education:  Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.  Alcatel-Lucent is an equal opportunity employer Alcatel-Lucent is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
