Java Developer

General Summary: Work as a team member to develop, deliver and support a highly scalable web user interface for a distributed Java server application.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities: (* Essential Functions)
* Collaborate with team members to deliver user interface features using the existing framework.

*Resolve technical problems. Initiate design changes and provide engineering support to assess customer needs and solve field issues.

*Generate design and product documentation.

*Perform unit testing and integration testing as required.
Perform other duties as required.

Education: BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred. Advanced degree (MSEE, MSCS) preferred.

Experience:
3 years prior design and development experience.

Experience in web application development.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Hands-on experience with source-code control systems and bug tracking systems.

Effective written and verbal communication skills. Be able to document designs and project status.

Effective time management.

Working knowledge of the following technology areas:

Web Server centric application development including WebWorks, Struts, HTML, XML, HTTP, Perl and server side scripting.

Database centric application development including SQL and related technologies.
