Learning and Development Coordinator
POSITION: LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT COORDINATORDEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES
The Learning and Development Coordinator will schedule, plan, and coordinate training programs and courses, to oversee and track course enrollments, track departmental records and generate reports, and provide administrative support to the Learning and Development (L&D) department. Other duties include but are not limited to: Enrolls students in training courses, tracks attendance and maintains course training records utilizing the Learning Management System. Schedules rooms and other resources for training classes across the San Diego division. Sets up training rooms to meet specific training class requirements, supports equipment/resource needs, and breaks down training areas following facilitation. Maintains record retention for all training files. Ensures that records are up to date and kept in a neat and organized manner. Archives files and maintains records to ensure files are purged in accordance with corporate record retention guidelines. Performs administrative duties to support the L&D department. Duties include but are not limited to: typing, answering telephones, producing correspondence, reports, and documents, assembling packages and binders, faxing and photocopying documents and training materials, updating and maintaining department files, and ordering materials from outside vendors. Develops, updates, and maintains various computerized databases, reports, and manuals. Greets department visitors and answers general questions about training and employee development. Communicates with employees regarding training initiatives and programs. Codes departmental invoices, tracks and updates department information and prepares purchase orders for submission to accounting.
Qualified candidates must type 45 wpm and possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Windows based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) preferred. Must possess excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously, while meeting deadlines in a fast paced environment. Must be able to plan, coordinate, and execute division training initiatives with minimal supervision. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. A High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred. Experience handling multiple duties in a fast paced environment required. Six months working in a training support and/or administrative support role strongly preferred. Must possess valid California Driver License and safe driving history. Strong interpersonal skills required. Must be able to project a positive company image, interact professionally with customers, vendors, retailers, and all levels of company management. Must possess strong oral and written communication skills. Must be able to create, proofread, and edit correspondence and written materials. Must possess basic math skills including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers and calculate percentages.
