Maintenance Technician

Proficient in the use and care of all field tools, such as climbing equipment, extension ladders, job related aerial lift platforms, all safety equipment, etc.

Basic television transmission fundamentals and electronic theory including Ohm’s Law formulas, voltage conversions, signal levels, losses, etc.

Ability to operate basic CATV equipment such as field strength meters, multimeters, signal leakage detectors, etc.

Ability to calculate basic system distribution levels.

Perform routine trouble calls, detect and repair system operational problems, perform sweep and balancing of system components, and perform status monitoring.

Ability to assist and/or perform in a routine emergency distribution system maintenance as required.

Ability to read system electronic design maps.

Perform leakage monitoring and repair.

Perform blind audits.

The Maintenance Technician Level I must maintain and demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of the above skills.

Required Skills:
Must possess a valid Michigan Chauffeur’s Driver’s license.
Requires Service Technician skills or equivalent experience, Associates degree in a related technical field or equivalent and General electronics experience.
The Maintenance Technician Level I will be started in a program of on-the-job training for a minimum period of one year.
